BALTIMORE, Md. – The 2016 Major League Soccer SuperDraft continued on Tuesday afternoon when University of Dayton men's soccer player Amass Amankona was selected with the fifth pick in the third round by Real Salt Lake.

Amankona was the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year and Midfielder of the Year on top of being Second Team All-American, Scholar All-American, and a number of other individual accolades. He led the Flyers to an A-10 Championship this past season, a berth in the NCAA Tournament, and the first Second Round NCAA Tournament appearance in program history.

This is the fifth Dayton men's soccer player drafted in the modern era of the SuperDraft, joining Denny Clanton (2004), Chris Rolfe (2005), Dasan Robinson (2006), and Isaac Kissi (2010).

The No. 46 overall selection, Amankona will now head to preseason camp with the rest of the Real Salt Lake draft pick.
