CHARLES COOKE NAMED A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Dayton's Charles Cooke earned the Atlantic 10's Player of the Week after leading the Flyers to back-to-back road victories.

Cooke in two games last week averaged 23.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.5 steals. He shot .727 from the field (16-of-22) and from three-point range (8-of-11).

He led the Flyers with 21 points at St. Bonaventure, then followed up with a career-high 26 points at Fordham.

Cooke is Dayton's leading scorer this season averaging 16.6 points per game.

He has also scored in double figures in nine consecutive contests. On the 2015-16 season, Cooke leads the Atlantic 10 in 3-point field goal shooting (.474) and ranks 13th overall in scoring (16.6).

In A-10 only games, Cooke ranks 4th in scoring (20.3), 3rd in 3-point field goal shooting (.600), 7th in steals (1.7) and 13th in field goal percentage (.553).

Cooke is Dayton's third A-10 weekly award winner this season. Steve McElvene and Ryan Mikesell were named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week earlier this year.

College Sports Madness also named Cooke its High-Major national Player of the Week, and its A-10 Player of the Week.

Dayton is 16-3 overall and 6-1 in the Atlantic 10.

The Flyers will play three of their next four at home starting on Wednesday, Jan. 27 hosting the Saint Louis Billikens at 7 p.m. ET.
