DAYTON -- The University of Dayton Flyers (17-3, 7-1 A-10) defeated the Saint Louis Billikens (8-12, 3-5 A-10) on Wednesday night at UD Arena, 73-37.  Kendall Pollard led the Flyers with 18 points and eight rebounds to bring Dayton's winning streak up to five.   Steve McElvene tied the school record for blocked shots in a game with six.
After scoring 182 points in its last two games, Saint Louis was held to a season-low 37 points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• Kendall Pollard led all scorers with 18 points on 8-9 shooting.  Dyshawn Pierre and Charles Cooke both joined Pollard in double-figures scoring with 12 and 10 points, respectively.  All 10 of Cooke's points came in the second half.

• McElvene moved up to fourth in single-season blocks at UD.  His 45 "Steve-says-no's" are tied with Erv Giddings (1977-78.  They trail only Sean Finn (46 in 2001-02) and Chris Wright (51 in 2010-11 and 53 in 2009-10).
• Dayton outrebounded Saint Louis, 50-29.  Dayton is now 13-1 when outrebounding its opponents.
• Saint Louis missed its first nine 3-pointers and did not convert from beyond-the-arc until 1:49 remaining in the first half.  The Billikens finished 3-24 (13%) on 3-pointers for the game.
• The Flyers held the Billikens to 15-55 (27%) shooting from the floor.  Saint Louis came into the game having shot 64-122 (52%) from the field its last two games.
• 10 different players scored for the Flyers.
• SLU's 37 points are the fewest Dayton has allowed in a game since January 5, 2010 against Ball State when the Flyers allowed 35.
