Margo Wolf has been named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week while teammate freshman
Jamie Peterson has been honored as the league's Co-Rookie of the Week.
Saint Louis senior Danielle Rygelski was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week and VCU's Gina Tuzzolo was selected as the league's Co-Rookie of the Week. All awards, presented by Come Ready Nutrition, were for matches played Oct. 17-23.
Wolf continues to lead the Flyers from the back row as the team's libero, starting in all 23 matches this season. The Cincinnati, Ohio, native averaged 7.00 digs per set in two wins for the Flyers. Wolf recorded a team-high 13 digs to go with two assists and one service ace in a sweep of La Salle on Friday. In Sunday's 3-1 win over Duquesne, she passed a career-high 36 digs and she also posted a 1.000 reception percentage for the weekend. Â
Peterson, an outside hitter from West Liberty, Ohio, scored 2.21 points per set for the Flyers in two weekend victories. She had five kills, two blocks and one dig in a sweep of La Salle on Friday, and followed with eight kills to go with three blocks in Dayton's 3-1 win over Duquesne on Sunday. Over the weekend, she posted a 1.000 reception percentage while averaging 1.86 kills per set and 0.71 blocks per set for Dayton.
The Flyers will step out of A-10 Conference play on Wednesday to travel to Morehead, Kentucky. Dayton will square off against Morehead State Oct. 26 at MSU's Wetherby Gym with first serve set for 6 p.m.
