University of Dayton junior forward
Alexis Kiehl was named the NSCAA Division I College Player of the Week. The two-time Atlantic 10 First Team selection was also named to the All-Championship Team. She broke the A-10 tournament record for points (12) and goals scored (5) in 2016.
She led Dayton to its league-record 10th Atlantic 10 Championship title Sunday, Nov. 6 by defeating the No. 1 seed Saint Joseph's 7-0, which broke a conference tournament record for goals scored in a single match. With the win, the Flyers secured the A-10's automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
Kiehl has scored 20 goals this season (tied for first in NCAA Division I) for the Flyers. She is also sixth in the nation for points per game (2.14).
In addition, Kiehl was named the TopDrawer Soccer National Player of the Week and the Flyers were named the National Team of the Week.
Dayton will play Ohio State in the First Round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship this Saturday, Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
This will be the Flyers' 10th NCAA appearance.
