DAYTON – University of Dayton senior placekicker William Will has been named to the Watch List for the Fred Mitchell Award, which goes to the top kicking specialist at the FCS, NCAA Division II, Division III and NAIA levels.

This is the third straight season Will has been named to the Mitchell Watch List.

A two-time First Team All-PFL pick, Will's 84 points were the most in the PFL last season.  He also led the league in field goals per game (1.42), field goal percentage (73.9% (17 of 23) and was one of three kickers in the PFL who was perfect on PAT's (33 of 33).  He is the eighth Dayton kicker to not miss on any PAT in a season.  Nationally, Will was tied for ninth in field goals per game.

The Mokena, Ill. product enters 2016 with 41 career field goals, second only to Mike Duvic's 46.  Will also ranks seventh in total points, 87 points behind Duvic's UD-record 326.  He has scored 84 points in each of the last two seasons.

The Watch List for the Fred Mitchell Award includes 27 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II, III, National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) collegiate place-kickers that were nominated by their colleges for excellence on the football field and in the community.

The breakdown of the 41 placekickers is as follows:
• Collegiate Division –12 FCS, 9 Division II, 4 Division III and 2 NAIA
• State – the placekickers play at schools located in 19 different states
• Year – 1 Post-Grad, 17 Seniors, 5 Juniors, 4 Sophomores

Dayton was 10-2 overall in 2015, making the Flyers' first appearance in the NCAA Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.  UD was the Pioneer Football League co-champions with a 7-1 conference record.  It was the Flyers' 12th PFL crown in the 23-year history of the league.

UD will kick-off the 2016 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. ET at home against Central State.
