Rick Chamberlin has announced the Flyer football team's 2017 spring practice schedule. UD's first practice will be
Friday, March 17, and they will finish the spring season Sun
day, April 9 with the annual Spring Game. The Flyers will go head-to-head in an intrasquad scrimmage at Welcome Stadium; kickoff for the Spring Game will be
1 p.m. ET.
Pioneer Football League regulations allow for 15 spring practice dates. Dayton will hit the turf
March 17, 18, 20, 22, 24, 25, 27, 29, 31, and also
April 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, in preparation for the Spring Game on
April 9. The team will participate in eight non-contact practices, and seven full-pad practices. The full-pad practices will be
March 22, 25, 27, 29, and continuing to
April 1, 3, 5.
All 15 workouts will be held at Welcome Stadium.
Dayton returns 12 starters – eight from the offense, and four from the defensive side of the ball. Dayton finished the 2016 season with a record of 9-2 overall, and 7-1 in the Pioneer Football League. The Flyers finished the season strong, ending with a seven-game winning streak that they will carry into next season.
