DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball program and head coach
Shauna Green announced that sophomore guard Araion Bradshaw will transfer to Dayton to join the Flyers from the reigning National Champions, South Carolina.
"Araion brings so much to our program and I am absolutely thrilled to welcome her to our family," said Coach Green. "She is a point guard who can facilitate, score and takes pride in defending the ball. Having won a national championship last year, she brings a championship mentality that is critical to our program as we continue to build."
Bradshaw is a 5'6" guard out of Boston, Mass. that was a highly touted recruit for the Gamecocks coming out of the Tabor Academy. She was ranked as the No. 32 overall recruit in the Class of 2016 after helping Tabor Academy to back-to-back finals of the NEPSAC Class A Tournament. Bradshaw earned NEPSAC Class A East All-Star honors in her senior campaign.
A civil engineering major, Bradshaw was named to the SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll.
In her freshman season at South Carolina, Bradshaw played in 24 games including three NCAA Tournament contests and the National Championship victory over Mississippi State. She shot 40 percent from three-point range on the season and totaled a career-high five assists in the win over Quinnipiac in the NCAA Sweet 16.
Bradshaw will redshirt the 2017-18 season before having three years of eligibility remaining in 2018-19.
