NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The University of Dayton men's basketball team's first season under coach Anthony Grant will begin the Atlantic 10 portion of the schedule against another new A-10 coach when the Flyers travel to Duquesne on Saturday, Dec. 30.

This news, along with the full Atlantic Conference schedule, was announced today by the University and the A-10.

Grant, Duquesne's Keith Dambrot, UMass' Matt McCall and VCU's Mike Rhoades are the four newest coaches in the Atlantic 10, but only Grant and Dambrot will meet in the first game of league play.

The A-10 also announced the leagues national television schedule on ESPN, CBS Sports Network and NBC Sports Network.

Counting games at the Gildan Charleston Classic, Dayton will play five games on an ESPN outlet, seven on the CBS Sports Network and four on the NBC Sports Network.

After the A-10 opener at Duquesne on Saturday, Dec. 30, UD is back at UD Arena for two games – St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, Jan. 3 and UMass on Saturday, Jan. 6.  The Flyers are then at Richmond (Tuesday, Jan. 9), back home against VCU (Friday, Jan. 12) and in Philadelphia to meet Saint Joseph's (Wednesday, Jan. 17).

Dayton closes out the month of January with two games at home – Rhode Island (Saturday, Jan. 20) and Davidson (Tuesday, Jan. 23) and a game at Saint Louis (Saturday, Jan. 27). 

UD will have three home games and five on the road in February – at UMass (Saturday, Feb. 3), at home vs. Duquesne (Wednesday, Feb. 7), at VCU (Saturday, Feb. 10), at George Mason (Wednesday, Feb. 14), at home against Fordham (Saturday, Feb. 17) and Saint Louis (Tuesday, Feb. 20), and on the road against Rhode Island (Friday, Feb. 23) and La Salle (Wednesday, Feb. 28).

The Flyers close the regular season at home against George Washington on Saturday, March 3.

The Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship will be played March 7-11 at Washington D.C.'s Capital One Arena.

Games times and the remainder of the Dayton men's basketball television schedule will be announced at a later date.

Dayton was 24-8 overall, and Atlantic 10 Conference regular season champions with a 15-3 league record last season.  The Flyers reached the NCAA tournament for the fourth consecutive year and set a UD Arena attendance record, averaging 13,108 fans per game.
