NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Atlantic 10 Conference released its weekly awards and recognized University of Dayton women's basketball player
Jenna Burdette as the conference Player of the Week.
Burdette scored 27 points and dished out eight assists in Dayton's win over Fordham Sunday as the Flyers clinched at least a share of the regular season title. The senior guard shot 52.6 percent overall, 50 percent from three-point range, and was a perfect 100 percent from the free throw line. She also posted a 4.0 assist to turnover ratio.
This season, Burdette became the 25
th Flyer to reach the 1,000 point mark and now ranks No. 15 all-time in Dayton scoring history.
The Flyers are 21-4 this season and a perfect 14-0 in A-10 play while riding a 15-game winning streak.
Burdette earned player of the week honors while freshmen Nicole Cardano-Hillary (GMU) and Neila Luma (GW) received co-rookie of the week accolades.
Dayton returns to action Wednesday, Feb. 21 against George Mason at home. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
