The Atlantic 10 Conference announced its end of season men's and women's tennis awards on Tuesday afternoon and several Dayton Flyers were recognized. Junior
Jordan Benjamin headlined the awards by winning the conference's Most Outstanding Player award. Benjamin went 16-0 in singles during dual match play this season, all at the No. 1 spot in the lineup, and also earned the Atlantic 10 Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Singles Championships at Wake Forest University with a No. 121 ITA national ranking.
Benjamin was also named to the All-Atlantic 10 First Team, along with teammates
Zach Berry and
Carsten Fisher. Berry and Fisher went 24-6 at No. 1 doubles this season, setting a new Dayton record for most doubles victories in a season. The senior duo also compiled singles records of 14-5 and 17-4, respectively. Dayton's three players named to the All-Conference First Team were more than any other team in the conference.
Senior
Marlys Bridgham also earned honors for the Dayton women's team. Bridgham compiled 13 total wins while playing in the top spot of the lineup for both doubles and singles all season on her way to earning All-Atlantic 10 Second Team honors. Bridgham was also one of just six athletes in the conference to be honored on the Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team.
