Dayton will put its four-game winning streak on the line against the five-game unbeaten streak of Cincinnati on Thursday in non-conference women's basketball action at UD Arena in a 5 p.m. tipoff.

The game will begin a split doubleheader of UD-UC basketball on Thursday as the men's teams will also face each other in the third round of the Las Vegas Holiday Classic in Nevada. Thursday marks the sixth time in the series history that both the Flyer women and men will face the Bearcats on the same day. However, the games will be the first time in UD basketball history that Dayton will face the same school in both men's and women's games on the same day at different locations.

Dayton led from the opening tip to the final buzzer in a 76-62 victory over Tennessee-Martin on Tuesday at UD Arena. It was the fourth-straight win for the Flyers (6-2) who continued their longest winning streak since the 2003 season.

With the win, Dayton improved to 4-0 at UD Arena this season and won their fourth-straight game overall for the first time since the Flyers won six consecutive games from Nov. 30 to Dec. 17, 2003.

"I think we are improving as a team and I like the way our kids held together and played as a unit," UD Head Coach Jim Jabir said. "I think we are understanding the things we need to do to be a good team."

The Flyer trio of Jennifer Strong, Kiki Lund and Cara Wright reached double figures in scoring. Strong tallied 12 points on 5-for-12 shooting from the field including two three pointers. Lund finished with 11 points while hitting 3-of-4 shots from behind arc while Wright added 10 points and seven rebounds.

Amber Peterink led a group of three Dayton players that surpassed or matched their season-highs in scoring on the night. Peterink finished with nine points on 4-for-5 shooting from the field. Angela Cape and Nikki Oakland each matched their season-bests with seven points apiece.

"Tonight was a balanced effort, which is a good sign," Jabir commented. "We played everybody. If we can score 76 points and play everybody then I am happy with that. We don't have egos and we don't have to score. We just need to play hard and play together."
