DAYTON, Ohio - Senior Nikki Oakland scored 19 points as the University of Dayton women's basketball team picked up its fourth Atlantic 10 Conference win of the season over St. Bonaventure 64-51 on Super Bowl Sunday at UD Arena.

Joining Oakland in double figures was sophomore Kendel Ross and Karah Cloxton with 14 and 11 points, respectively. The duo also pulled down 11 rebounds total, with Ross grabbing seven boards and Cloxton pulling down four. St. Bonaventure's leading scorer was Katelyn Murray with 17 points, knocking down four three-pointers.

Dayton moves to 18-5 on the season and 4-3 in the Atlantic 10, while St. Bonaventure dropped to 15-7 overall and 3-4 with the loss.

For the game, Dayton shot 42.2-percent from the field while knocking down 38.5-percent from three-point range. After starting the game red hot, the Bonnies finished the game shooting 34.7-percent from the field and only 33.3-percent from beyond the arc.

After St. Bonaventure opened up the half with a three from Murray, the teams would trade shots from beyond the arc both hitting four a piece in the first seven minutes of play as Dayton's Cloxton and St. Bonaventure's Murray went 3-for-3 each.

The Flyers would go on a 12-0 run starting at 9:27 after Ross sparked the offense sinking three consecutive baskets as UD pulled away 28-16 with 6:48 left on the clock.

For more than eight minutes the Bonnies could not make a shot, firing off eight miscues. It wasn't until Malo scored at 4:22 that St. Bonaventure got back in the game.

Baskets from Murray and Doneth would help the team pull within 10 points of Dayton with two minutes left to go in the half.

However, Dayton would continue to build on its advantage behind points from Daugherty and Rosche, taking a 15 point lead (38-23) into the break.

Cloxton finished the frame with 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting from the field including her 3-of-3 shooting from beyond the arc. As a team, Dayton shot 54 percent from the field and an impressive 71 percent from three point range, while holding the Bonnies to just 36 percent shooting.

Dayton would hold onto its edge in the second half going on a 10-2 run with six of those points from Ross.

SBU would attempt to cut the lead with a 9-1 run to move the score to 56-44, but Dayton would keep up its momentum and eventually close out the game with a 64-51 win.

The Flyers return to A-10 action on the road Saturday, February 9 at Fordham. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET in a contest that can be followed with Gametracker on www.DaytonFlyers.com.
