POST-GAME QUOTES

Dayton Head Coach Brian Gregory

"Overall, I thought we played well at times. There were stretches where some of our guys played a little jittery, a little anxious, but that's to be expected."

"That is an athletic team and they did a good job pressuring the ball. They have a lot new guys to work in, but when they do, I think they'll have a good year."

"We did a better job of penetrating than you saw last year. Monty did a better job off the dribble and Brian made some plays on penetration."

"It was good to get the first one in. It will give our guys a good evaluation against someone new. If a player needs to improve, he'll see it on the tape. We'll use this week to evaluate ourselves, work at getting better, and see how much we did next week against a very good Findlay team."

Sophomore Guard Brian Roberts

"It was good to get the start we did opening up with a big lead. Monty set the tone and we took it from there."

"We tried to stay with our transition offense and get some easy fast break points. We wanted to keep that level of intensity up all game."

Sophomore Center Chris Alvarez

"It's nice to finally start the season back up, we still have a lot to learn and work on."

"We played all right tonight, we have a lot to learn on defense and offensively we need to take care of the ball better than what we did."

Freshman Center Desmond Adedeji

"Crazy.... being my first college exposure outside of practice, I was excited to be out there."

"In the first half I was trying hard to not mess up or miss any shot. As the game went on, I realized that I don't need to be nervous and just play the game I've been playing my whole life."

"As I soon as I got on the board, things started to flow for me and I became more relaxed out there."

Senior Guard Warren Williams

"It felt great out there, we only have two new players, but we were still doing a few different things to try and prepare for the upcoming season."

"Neither our defense nor offense is as good as it needs to be and those are just some things we need to work on here before the season starts."
