What does my donation fund?
One hundred percent of your annual donation supports the University of Dayton division of athletics. Your gift will go to work immediately to provide additional scholarships for student-athletes, increase annual operating budgets, enhance and create athletic facilities, and provide the ability to attract and retain outstanding student-athletes, coaches and staff.
What if I want to designate my gift for a particular sport?
You may make a gift to the Champions & Scholars Fund in support of a specific athletic program or scholarship fund by indicating your desire at the time of payment.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Please consult with your tax advisor.
I am a season ticket holder and make a donation through the Arena Seating Plan to get my tickets. What is the difference?
By making a donation to the arena seating plan to secure your men's basketball tickets, you automatically qualify for membership in the Champions & Scholars Fund at the appropriate level. An additional annual gift can be made to enhance your membership benefits within the Champions & Scholars Fund while also improving your lifetime giving to the athletics program.
What is the policy for UD Arena Lounge Access During Men's Basketball Season?
Eligibility to access the Boesch Lounge and Spectrum Flight Deck is determined by being a season ticket holder and maintaining the appropriate level of an annual contribution to the University of Dayton division of athletics. Annual contributions include gifts to the arena seating plan or athletics, such as donations for capital projects.
What does it mean to have color-coded men's basketball tickets?
Some season tickets are color-coded gold, silver or bronze based on additional contributions to the University of Dayton division of athletics. Color-coded basketball ticket holders are allowed to make pregame Spectrum Flight Deck dinner reservations — prioritized by gold, silver or bronze level. Each color-coded men's basketball ticket holder is allowed to bring one guest per ticket for pregame dining. Access to the Boesch Lounge and Spectrum Flight Deck for halftime and postgame is also prioritized by gold, silver or bronze tickets. To make a dinner reservation, contact the UD ticket office at (937) 229-4433. For more information, visit DaytonFlyers.com or contact the Champions & Scholars Fund at (937) 229-3999.
I am not a season ticket holder. How does my contribution allow me to have access to men's basketball tickets?
Season ticket holders have first right of refusal for men's basketball tickets, and at the current date there is limited availability. When tickets are available, individuals will be contacted based on lifetime giving to athletics and the number of years as a men's basketball season ticket holder. To inquire about availability, please contact the Champions & Scholars Fund at (937) 229-3999.
What is the legacy level for the Champions & Scholars Fund?
The legacy level within the Champions & Scholars Fund recognizes individuals with lifetime gifts to athletics exceeding $100,000. For current year annual contributors, commemorative items apply. Annual membership is recognized for donors exceeding $100,000 from previous fiscal years.
Does a Varsity D or Flyers Club commitment qualify me for a membership in the Champions & Scholars Fund?
No. Varsity D and the Flyers Club are separate 501(c)(3) organizations operated independently from the University. In order to obtain membership in the Champions & Scholars Fund, you must make a gift to the University of Dayton division of athletics.
I already make an annual gift to the UD Fund. What is the difference?
An annual gift to the Champions & Scholars Fund is specifically designated to the athletic program. Within the Champions & Scholars Fund you may designate your gift to a specific sport or other athletic fund and maintain membership at the appropriate level with an annual gift. Based on the amount and designation of your gift, you will also be included in any appropriate annual and lifetime giving societies as recognized by the University of Dayton.
Will I be considered for membership in other University of Dayton giving societies?
All past and future giving to the athletic program will be recognized as appropriate in the John Stuart Society (lifetime giving). Annual giving will be recognized by the University as appropriate.
