ST. BONAVENTURE, NY - Monty Scott scored 16 points to lead the University of Dayton men's basketball team to a 68-61 win over St. Bonaventure Tuesday night at the Reilly Center. The Flyers outscored the Bonnies 43-27 in the second half to escape with the come-from-behind victory.

The Flyers (16-8, 9-4 Atlantic 10) connected on 18 of 19 free throws in the second half to win their third straight game and maintain their hold on second place in the A-10 West.

After trailing 34-25 at halftime, Dayton opened the second half with a 14-3 run capped by a 3-pointer from Brian Roberts.

UD led by as much as seven in the second half, but the Bonnies cut the margin to one (58-57) with 3:07 remaining. Scott hit a pair of free throws to increase UD's lead to three, and after shutting out SBU on the next possession, the Flyers looked to run some clock. With the shot clock running out, Warren Wililams put a spin move on to free himself for a shot when he spotted Norman Plummer all alone under the basket. Plummer's bucket lifted UD up 62-57.

Dayton closed out its scoring with six straight free throws in the last 26 seconds.

Ahmad Smith led the Bonnies (2-23, 1-13) with 26 points, including 10 of 11 from the foul line. Scott's 16 paced a balanced Flyer attack. UD got eight points each from Marques Bennett, Trent Meacham, Plummer, Williams and Roberts. Ten of Dayton's 11 players that saw action were in the scoring column.

Patrick Lottin scored 19 points for SBU, including 12 points during the last nine minutes of the first half when St. Bonaventure outscored Dayton 24-7.

The Flyers are back home Saturday to host George Washington in a key Atlantic 10 game at the UD Arena. GW sits on top of the A-10 West heading into its game tomorrow night at Xavier. Saturday's UD/GW game will air live on the A-10 TV Network (Fox Sports Ohio).
