Post-Game Notes
Tuesday's 68-61 win at St. Bonaventure was UD's third straight win. The Flyers improve to 16-8 overall and 9-4 in the Atlantic 10. Dayton is in second place in the Atlantic 10 West Division, a half-game behind George Washington. GW plays at Xavier Wednesday, and then travels to UD Arena for a noon game on Saturday.
This was Dayton's first win at St. Bonaventure in five tries. The Flyers are now 1-3 at the Reilly Center (the first game of the series was played at the Olean Armory on December 18, 1948). The series is tied 8-8.
With one regular season road game left, UD is 5-5 away from UD Arena in 2004-05. Dayton will finish the regular season at Xavier on March 5.
The Flyers followed a familiar script in beating the Bonnies. Seven players scored at least six points. Monty Scott led with 16, followed by Norman Plummer, Warren Williams, Trent Meacham, Brian Roberts and Marques Bennett, all with eight. All of Mark Jones' six points came in the last 1:49, including four-for-four from the line in the last 16 seconds.
For the game, UD was 18 of 19 from the free throw line, all coming in the second half. Seven different Dayton players combined to make the 18.
