The 2010-11 University of Dayton men’s basketball program’s preseason hype video is now on the GoDaytonHoops.com website, the Dayton Flyers Facebook Page and the Dayton Flyers YouTube Channel.
UD partnered with Mind Over Media, a multimedia production company out of Pittsburgh, to produce the video. The Mind Over Media crew worked with the Flyer men’s basketball players and staff to shoot green screen footage, incorporate highlights from the previous season, input graphics and embed a moving audio track to create the piece.
Dayton fans are encouraged to share the YouTube video to as many viewers as possible.
There are many options for sharing a video you've found on YouTube. Here are a few:
1. Have YouTube send your friends an email with a link to the video - just sign into your YouTube account, click on the "Share" link underneath any video, and then scroll down to the "Send this video from YouTube" box. Enter any email address you want and an optional personal message, then click "Send".
2. Send a video URL to your friends directly - just click on the "URL" text box to the right of any video, copy the text, and paste it to anyone in an email message or IM window.
3. Share to a social network - just click on your favorite social network underneath a video (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, orkut, etc), sign into that social network (if necessary), and follow the instructions to send the video to your profile or directly to your friends.
The video is one component to build excitement for the upcoming basketball season.
Dayton returns nine letterwinners from last year’s 25-12 squad that won the NIT Championship, including team MVP Chris Wright and NIT MVP Chris Johnson. Both were named preseason All-Atlantic 10 at last Thursday’s A-10 Media Day. Wright was named to the first team, while Johnson was chosen to the third team.
A two-time member of the John Wooden Preseason Award List, Wright averaged 13.7 points and 7.3 rebounds during the 2009-10 campaign. He spent part of the summer practicing against the U.S. national team as part of USA Basketball’s Men’s Select Team. Johnson also earned the Atlantic 10’s Chris Daniels Memorial Most Improved Player Award winner in 2010 after averaging 11.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game last season.
The Flyers will also welcome five new faces to the program in 2010-11 led by Oak Hill Academy point guard Juwan Staten. Staten was named to the A-10’s Preseason All-Newcomer Team.
UD is the only team in the Atlantic 10 to have two players named all-conference and also have a representative on the all-newcomer team.
An estimated crowd of 5,200 watched the Flyers in the annual Red & Blue Scrimmage Saturday evening.
