DAYTON, Ohio -
Recent University of Dayton graduates Chris and Matt Lemon, natives of Bowling Green, Ohio, repeated as First Team Capital One Academic All-District men’s track & field/cross country selections, voted on by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Chris Lemon, who earned first team all-district honors for the second consecutive year, was a 2010 CoSIDA Academic All-American Second Team pick. He has twice been named the Atlantic 10 Men’s Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Year, in addition to being a three-time First Team A-10 honoree. He won the A-10 Men's Cross Country individual championship in 2009 and was runner-up in 2010. This season he became the first Flyer to advance to two NCAA Men's Cross Country Championships (2008 and 2010). He holds eight of the top 10 8K times at UD, including the school record of 24:05. Chris Lemon also holds UD records in the 10K, 3000-meter, 5,000 and 10,000 meter runs. He was a three-time Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team selection. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.947 double majoring in education and Spanish, with a minor in mathematics. He is leaving for Mexico in August to teach on a Fulbright Grant.

Matt Lemon is a two-time First Team All-District honoree. He was the first Dayton men's cross country runner to earn First Team Atlantic 10 honors all four years. He was a two-time A-10 All-Academic Team selection. Matt and Chris were the first Flyer runners to qualify for the NCAA National Championship in 2008. The 2007 Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year, Matt Lemon was named UD's Most Valuable Runner that season. His 10K time of 31:02 set at the '08 NCAA Championship is fourth all-time at UD.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude this spring with a 3.94 GPA in electrical engineering and Spanish.

The Academic All-District first team honor is the first step in selecting this year’s Academic All-America® team. With their first team selections, the Lemon twins will appear on the Academic All-America® national ballot.
