CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The University of Dayton men's cross country team finished ninth of 45 teams overall and fifth of nine NCAA D-I teams at the All-Ohio Collegiate Cross Country Championships Friday at the Elvin King Cross Country Course.

Redshirt junior Greg Roeth was Dayton's top finisher in the men's 8K race, coming in ninth of 147 runners in a time of 25:32.91. Junior Kyle Lowry was not far behind, taking 11th in 25:36.57. Junior Jeremy Schiele was about a second off Lowry and took 13th place in a time of 25:37.74. Junior Stephen Mackell was UD's fourth runner to cross the line, taking 32nd in a time of 26:14.53.

Sophomore Eric Gruenbacher was Dayton's fifth man and finished 48th in 26:56.80. Sophomore Doug Norris was right on his heels to finish sixth for the Flyers and 49th overall in 27:00.59.

The Flyers are off for a week before heading to the NCAA Pre-Nationals in Terre Haute, Ind. on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 11:45 a.m.
