University of Dayton senior kicker Jason Resch (Poland, OH) has been named the national NCAA Division I-AA Mid-Major Special Teams Player of the Week by Football Gazette for the third time this season. Resch was named after kicking a 45-yard field goal and making all five PAT's in Dayton's 38-7 win at Valparaiso on Saturday.
Resch, a 2000 graduate of Poland Seminary High School, leads UD in scoring this season (50 points) and also leads the PFL in kick scoring (8.33 points a game, which is also third overall in the league), field goals (1.33 field goals a game), field goal percentage (.667, 8-12) and PAT percentage (26-26).
A pre-season All-American, Resch led UD in scoring last season with 73 points.
The Flyers, ranked #1 among NCAA Division I-AA Mid-Major schools by both the Football Gazette and the Sports Network, are back in action Saturday when they are at Robert Morris. Game time at Moon Township Stadium is 1:00 p.m. EDT. |
