BRONX, N.Y. - Despite five saves from senior Zac Gibbens the Dayton Flyers fell 1-0 to the Fordham Rams in Atlantic 10 action.
Dayton drops to 7-4-2 overall and 1-3-0 in the Atlantic 10.
For the fourth consecutive time against A-10 opponents Dayton held the opposing team scoreless. However, the Flyers didn't must much on the offensive side being out shot 3-1.
The lack of offensive punch allowed Fordham to break through with the only goal of the game at the 80:48 mark of the second half. A 30-yard shot just got past Gibbens for the lone marker of the contest.
Dayton had one final attempt to the game, but a shot by Isaac Kissi went high. The Flyers were out shot in the contest 8-3 despite holding a 5-3 edge in corner kicks. Only Kissi and Josh Albers were able to fire off shots for Dayton.
Dayton returns home to start a five-game stretch of games at Baujan Field. It begins with a clash on Friday against the St. Joseph's Hawks at 7 p.m. ET.
