CAMPBELL AGAIN TABBED AS LEAGUE'S DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Senior Middle Blocker Leads Atlantic 10, Ranks 23rd in Nation in Blocks/Set

Complete A-10 Release

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton senior Megan Campbell has been named the Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the week as announced by the league office on Monday. This is the third overall weekly honor for the Versailles, Ohio, native this season, the second time she has earned defensive honors.

George Washington junior Kelsey Newman was named Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week while freshman teammate Emily Clemens earned Rookie of the Week honors.

Campbell averaged a team-best 1.86 blocks/set, which would lead the nation if it was a season-long stat. She recorded eight blocks to go with nine kills, two digs and a service ace in a loss at George Washington on Friday in the Flyers' 3-1 loss. On Saturday, Campbell, a middle blocker, tallied five blocks to go with a team-high-tying 10 kills, three digs and two service aces in UD's straight-set sweep of George Mason. The Versailles, Ohio, native served up three aces in 30 attempts to two errors for a .933 serving percentage.

The Flyers have one match this weekend, a home contest against La Salle on Friday, Nov. 8. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at UD's Frericks Center and admission is free.
