DAYTON, Ohio - - The University of Dayton volleyball team swept the visiting Wright State Raiders, 3-0 (25-17, 25-12, 25-16), in finalé of the 2013 Flyer Classic at UD's Frericks Center. Senior Megan Campbell led the Flyers with a match-high 10 kills while sophomore Jenna Jendryk set a match-high 30 assists. Both earned all-tournament team honors for their play over the weekend.

The Raiders opened the match with a 5-3 lead but the Flyers quickly adjusted, tying things up at five-all and again at six apiece. Back-to-back kills from Turner kick-started at 7-1 run to give UD the 13-7 lead, forcing WSU to call for timeout. A kill from Ellen Senf cut the Flyer lead to three, 14-11, but the Raiders would get no closer in the first frame. Dayton claimed the 25-17 first-set win to go up 1-0 on Wright State.

The Flyers scored the first three points of the second set on their way to an 8-3 lead. Two Raider attack errors and a Campbell service ace stretched UD's lead to eight, 12-4, and the Flyers held the 10-point advantage at 18-8 after consecutive UD assisted blocks. A late 5-0 run by Dayton gave the Flyers their largest lead of the set, 23-9, and UD held on for the 25-12 second set win.

Out of intermission, Dayton jumped out on Wright State 8-1 in the third set. The Raiders cut the advantage to four, the last at 17-13 following a kill from Heidi Splinter. UD closed out the frame with a 5-1 run and earned the 25-16 win in the third set to take the match, 3-0.

Wright State was led by Senf and Splinter with seven kills apiece while Miranda Puthoff tallied nine digs on the afternoon.
