CAMPBELL NAMED A-10 DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Second Weekly Honor for Senior Middle Blocker this Season

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - After averaging 2.10 blocks/set over the weekend, University of Dayton volleyball's senior Megan Campbell was named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday. This is the second weekly honor Campbell after earning Player of the Week honors the first week of awards.

VCU junior Cecilia Aragao was named Player of the Week and Saint Louis freshman Danielle Rygelski was named the Rookie of the Week for matches played from Sept. 24-29.

A native of Versailles, Ohio, Campbell posted double-digit blocks in back-to-back matches this weekend averaging an incredible 2.10 blocks/set over the Flyers' two matches. Campbell, a middle blocker, narrowly missed the double-double in both matches, recording nine kills and 10 blocks against VCU and nine kills to go with a career-high 11 blocks against SLU. The frontline player also had three digs and three aces.

The Flyers are set to take to the road this weekend for matches at La Salle Friday at 7 p.m. and at Virginia Commonwealth Sunday at 1 p.m.
