ATHENS, Ohio – The University of Dayton volleyball team fell 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-16) to Ohio University in the final match of the Baymont Inn Invitational Saturday at the Convocation Center.

Janna Krafka was named to the All-Tournament Team for the Flyers.

The Bobcats, receiving votes and just two spots outside the AVCA Top 25, improve to 5-1 overall, while the Flyers are an even 3-3.

Dayton had a balanced attack with six players notching at least four kills. Alaina Turner led in the kills category with eight, followed closely by Megan Campbell and Jill Loiars with seven.

Jenna Jendryk had 24 assists and also led UD in hitting percentage (.333).  Krafka had 19 digs.

UD started off strong and held a 20-18 lead in the first set but seven errors proved too costly. Ohio battled back and took the set 25-22.

Dayton never led in the second set, but rallied from a four-point deficit and even tied the match at 11-11. OU scored four consecutive points and never looked back on their way to a 25-19 win in set two, and took the momentum into set three for a 25-16 win.

The Flyers are back in action at the Nebraska Ameritas Player's Challenge Sept. 12-14 against Iowa State, Nebraska and St. Mary's College.
