DAYTON - University of Dayton volleyball head coach Tim Horsmon has announced the addition of Tim Balice as assistant coach. A former Dayton volunteer assistant coach, Balice has spent the last three seasons as head coach at Urbana University in Urbana, Ohio. He will focus on training and recruiting for the Flyers.

"We're excited to add Tim to our staff, as he has worked with us previously and has a great pulse of our program and what makes Dayton a special University," commented Horsmon. "Tim's energy is contagious and I believe he will be a great trainer in the gym as well as a great recruiter. In assessing our needs to balance our staff, we believed Tim was the right fit for us considering his strengths and passion for volleyball, the profession, and our institution."

Balice raised the level of success for the volleyball program at Urbana, where he constructed the first back-to-back winning seasons and the first post-season victory during the school's NCAA era. He posted an overall record of 52-48 (27-21 MEC) after three seasons, most recently leading the Blue Knights to their fifth-straight conference tournament appearance in 2017. UU finished 2017 19-17 overall while tying the program's best record in league play at 10-6.

Balice replaces recently departed assistant coach Evan Muys.
