#UDWBB Adds McLoughlin As Strength Coach

McLoughlin Graduated From Dayton In 2014

DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team and head coach Shauna Green announced the hiring of Rich McLoughlin as the strength and conditioning coach for the program.

"I am absolutely thrilled to have Coach Rich apart of our Flyer family," said Coach Green. "This is a very critical position for our program. His knowledge, experience and energy will make an immediate impact. His passion for Dayton is unmatched and I'm glad he is back home as a Flyer."

"It's an honor and a dream-come-true to be back at UD working for Coach Green and staff doing what I'm most passionate about; athletic development and basketball," said McLoughlin. "Serving solely the women's basketball program is a unique opportunity for me, but is something that I welcome with great excitement. I hope to add to the already extremely successful culture that's been built here and cannot wait to get to work."

McLoughlin comes to Dayton after previously spending the last six months as an intern and eventual Assistant Sports Performance Coach at Stanford University where he assisted with the performance enhancement for football, men's basketball, women's soccer, softball and others. Prior to this time at Stanford, he served three years as the Director of Strength and Conditioning at Saint Viator High School in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

McLoughlin graduated from the University of Dayton in 2014 earning a bachelor degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Entrepreneurship. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as well USA Weightlifting certified.  In his time at UD, he served as the president and team captain of the successful men's club basketball team.

A native of Prospect Heights, Ill., McLoughlin resides in Dayton.
