DAYTON TRUMPS ST. BONAVENTURE 76-65 IN ATLANTIC 10 HOME-OPENER

DAYTON, Ohio – Patrice Lalor had a career day, posting 16 points in a 76-65 win over the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Saturday at UD Arena. Dayton improves to 14-3 and 2-0 in the Atlantic 10 with the win.

Senior Kendel Ross tallied 15 points and had a season-high 11 rebounds against SBU. It was the ninth game that Ross has notched double figures.

Sophomore Justine Raterman also had 12 points in the contest, it is the fifth time in six games that Raterman has achieved that feat.
 
The Flyers were tough against the Bonnies in the paint. UD outscored its opponent 42-16 in the key on Saturday. Dayton also had 12 points off of offensive rebounds in the game.

Both teams opened the game evenly, battling to a 10-9 start. Dayton broke away from the Bonnies on a 6-2 run at the 12 minute mark, giving UD a 16-11 advantage.

Bonaventure countered pulling within two of Dayton, however, the Flyers extended an 8-2 run as UD led 24-16 with 8:40 remaining in the first frame. Dayton closed out the half with a nine point lead over SBU 40-31.

Casey Nance’s jumper in the lane gave Dayton its largest lead of the day, commanding a 53-34 advantage over St. Bonaventure with 13:15 remaining in the game.

The Bonnies tried to make a run, but were unable to come within striking distance of the Flyers. They trailed in double figures for the majority of the second half.
