DAYTON WOMEN'S GOLF TO PLAY AT THE CLEVELAND STATE INVITATIONAL

CLEVELAND, Ohio – At the halfway point of the fall season, the Dayton Flyers head up north next to play in the Cleveland State Invitational from Sept. 26-27.

The tournament will take place at the Pine Hills Golf Course in Hinckley, Ohio.

Clara Ang, Heather Jorgensen, Erin Peavy, Maggie Prokop, Lucy Frey and Kelly Muscat will compete for Dayton in its third tournament of the fall season.

Jorgensen earlier in the week received some hardware after being named the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week.

Jorgensen fired a 75 in the final round to match a career best for a round of 18 at the Ball State Cardinal Classic. The senior led the way for the Flyers and finished tied for 22nd among the individuals (83-75—154).

This was Jorgensen’s first collegiate career weekly award. Last season the Flyers had three honorees.

Through two events this season, the Flyers average 323.20 strokes per round as a team.

Individually, Ang leads the team in stroke average at 78.4. Following her are Frey (81.5) and Jorgensen (81.6).

In addition to host Cleveland State, the 11 team field includes Dayton, Bowling Green, Youngstown State, Oakland, St. Francis (PA), Malone, Walsh, Niagara, Robert Morris and Western Ontario.

There will be a 9 a.m. ET shotgun start both days with teams playing 18 holes each day (36 total).

Pine Hills, designed by Pappy Paddock in 1957, has consistently been named as one of the THE places to play in northern Ohio.
