Dayton Flyers

In their final tournament before the UD Fall Invitational, the Dayton Flyers women’s golf team heads over to the Hoosier State to compete in the 2011 MAC Preview.

Hosted by Western Michigan, the two-day, 36-hole event will take place at the Hawthorns Golf & Country Club from Oct. 10-11.

It is a 36-hole event with 18 holes on each day. Both days begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. ET.

Competing against Dayton will be Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Butler, Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, Indiana State, IUPUI, Northern Illinois, Ohio University, Southern Illinois, Toledo and host Western Michigan.

This is Dayton’s first trip to the MAC Preview under head coach Sally Kosters.

The Flyers will send a lineup with Clara Ang, Lucy Frey, Maggie Prokop, Heather Jorgensen and Kelly Coakley.

Ang and Jorgensen have each won the Colonial Athletic Association’s Golfer of the Week award earlier this season and lead the way for the Flyers.

Ang leads the Flyers in stroke average (78.1) and total rounds played (7) this fall. Jorgnensen has played in all three tournaments this season and enters the upcoming tournament with an 82.7 stroke average.

The Hawthorns Golf & Country Club has been a host to top flight championship events such as the Indiana PGA Championship, NCAA Men's Division III National Championship and qualifiers for the U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur and U.S. Senior Open.
