University of Dayton standout junior point guard Kevin Dillard has been named College Sports Madness’ Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after his standout performance on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012 as the Flyers hosted Xavier.

College Sports Madness weekly identifies athletes who are consistently seen playing at the highest caliber and Dillard was recognized for just that. He was complimented for an exceptional week of play as he has become a key component to this year’s Dayton Flyers.

Kevin Dillard scored 16 points, dished out nine assists, had three rebounds and a steal in UD’s 87-72 win over the Musketeers. Dillard helped lead his team to take sole possession of the first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference. His crafty skills and his quick moves have not only earned him respect within UD’s program he has also earned a great deal of respect throughout the A-10 Conference.

Dillard is currently leading the Flyers this season in points (12.3) assists (5.8), and steals (1.8).

The Flyers (14-5, 4-1 A-10) are on the road Wednesday as they play Saint Joseph’s (12-8, 2-3 A-10) but are back in home action Saturday when they host to Rhode Island. Game time is 7 p.m. ET and will be televised locally on WHIO-TV.
