Dayton softball head coach Cara Clark announced the addition of assistant coach Madison Banks to the Flyers staff and she will be entering her first season with the program in 2027. Banks' primary responsibilities will be focused on offense.
In December of 2025, Banks founded Next Play Partners, a research-based student-athlete development program that helps student-athletes navigate identity, career transition and present-day challenges through research-based curriculum. She is an advocate for NCAA mental health policy and Mental Health First Aid certification and is committed to fostering student-athlete well-being both on and off the field.
Banks spent the 2026 season as an assistant coach for the Drake Bulldogs, primarily working with hitters on mechanics, approach and situational awareness. She helped to increase the team's slugging percentage and home run output from the previous season. Banks also spent time at Evansville in an assistant coaching role.
She earned a master's degree in sports leadership and management from Miami (Ohio) in 2024 after spending two seasons on the RedHawks roster, playing in a total of 85 games. In 2023, she finished the season with a .311 batting average, 36 runs, 37 hits, seven doubles, three triples, three home runs and 16 RBI while leading the team to an NCAA Tournament appearance.
Banks graduated from Ole Miss in 2022 with a bachelor's degree after spending two seasons with the Rebels and she started her collegiate career at Virginia Tech.
