NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Dayton softball senior Jordan Jennings was named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week while freshman Gabrielle Snyder earned A-10 Co-Rookie of the Week accolades as announced by the conference office Monday. This is the first career weekly award for Jennings and Snyder picks up her third weekly honor this season after stellar play during the Flyers' series sweep of the first-place Fordham Rams this past Saturday.

Saint Louis' Briana Lore joined Jennings as Co-Player of the Week while Saint Louis' Alex Nickel was also honored as Co-Rookie of the Week. George Mason's Anna Blessing was named the league's Pitcher of the Week.

Jennings, a senior from Flower Mound, Texas, batted 3-for-7 (.429) at the plate with two home runs, five RBI and four runs scored as the Flyers swept Fordham to secure a spot in this week's Atlantic 10 Softball Championship. In the Flyers' 10-inning, 10-9 win over the Rams, Jennings was 2-for-4 with a double, a two-run home run, three RBI and two runs scored. In the second game of the doubleheader, she added on another two-run home run in Dayton's 7-3 win.

Snyder made an impact for the Flyers last weekend both offensively and defensively. The freshman from Grapevine, Texas, made two pitching appearances over the weekend, earning both a win and a save against Fordham. She worked the final four innings of Dayton's 10-inning victory over Fordham and closed out game two to pickup the save. The save marked Snyder's fifth of the year, which tied a Dayton school record for saves in a season. Offensively, Snyder batted 5-for-7 (.714) with a home run, two RBI and four runs scored.

Dayton is heading to Bronx, New York, today after securing the No. 5 seed at the 2014 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship to be held May 7-10 at Fordham's Murphy Athletic Complex. Dayton will square off against the fourth-seeded Massachusetts Minutewomen Wednesday at noon in the first game of the double-elimination championship.
