DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will close out the non-conference portion of the season with Eastern Michigan on Sunday, Jan. 4 at UD Arena. Game time is set for 2 p.m. ET. The action can be followed with live stats, live audio, and FREE video streaming at www.DaytonFlyers.com.

UD enters Sunday's game having won five of its last six contests. The Flyers are looking to pick up a win after losing a match-up with the Bowling Green Falcons in the Dayton Flyer Classic Championship game on Dec. 29.

The Flyers were led by All-Tournament selections Justine Raterman and Kristin Daugherty who scored 15 and 14 points, respectively in the game. Daugherty, along with freshman De'Sarae Chambers helped pace Dayton in the team's victory against Lipscomb in the opening round of the Classic as both finished with 17 points a piece. The 76-36 win over Liposcomb marked Dayton's largest victory over an opponent in seven years.

Chambers, who is UD's fourth-leading scorer with 7.4 points per game, was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on Dec. 29 after posting two career-highs in a 2-0 week for UD. Chambers scored 16 in the win over Loyola on Dec. 23 and followed it up with a career-high 17 points in the rout of Lipscomb on Dec. 28. The Flyer freshman also grabbed nine and eight rebounds, respectively in the contests. It is the sixth time a Flyer has earned the Conference Rookie of the Week award in the seven weeks the honor has been handed out.

Defensively the Flyers have been dominating the boards this season. Dayton is averaging 45.7 rebounds per game, out-rebounding the opposition by a margin of plus 7.5. Raterman is leading the charge with 9.9 rebounds per game.

On the offensive end, three Flyers are averaging double-figure scoring and four freshmen are scoring five or more points in a game. All but one of the seven freshmen have scored in a game for UD this season.

SCOUTING EASTERN MICHIGAN
Eastern Michigan enters today's game with a mark of 4-7 after cruising to a 77-47 victory over Weber State University on Dec. 29. The Eagles have won two of their last three games after suffering a four-game losing streak.

In its four victories this season, EMU is averaging 76.2 points while the opposition is posting just 50.0 points. The team is under the direction of head coach AnnMarie Gilbert who owns a 21-19 record in two seasons at EMU. She holds a 79-155 record overall.
