DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's soccer team extended its winning streak to 10 matches with a 3-0 shutout of Duquesne University at Baujan Field Sunday. For the second-consecutive match, three different Flyers scored goals while sophomore F Katie Lowstuter (Cincinnati, OH) provided two assists.

With the win, the Flyers improve to 10-1-0 overall, 3-0-0 in the Atlantic 10. UD is now off to its best start since the 1997 season, which started 12-1-0. The 13-1-0 record to open the 1986 season is the best is team history. The Dukes fell to 6-6-0, 1-2-0.

After a scoreless first half in which Dayton outshot Duquesne 11-3, junior F Reba Sedlacek (Hamilton, OH) scored just 2:18 into the second half. Lowstuter served a lofted corner kick to the middle of the box and the 5-foot-10 Sedlacek flicked it with her head in traffic past DU goalkeeper Virginia Bondi. The goal is the team-leading seveth of the season for Sedlacek and matches her career-high. It is the 20th of her career.

Freshman F Jen Leslie (Machesney Park, IL) scored her first collegiate goal to extend the Flyers' advantage to 2-0 in the 74th minute. Leslie took a pass from Sedlacek and shot from 20 yards on the left flank to the far corner. After picking her up first career goal in Friday's 4-0 win over St. Bonaventure, junior F Meghan Borysiak (Sylvania, OH) was also credited with her first career assist on Leslie's goal as she started the play with a pass to Sedlacek.

The Flyers tacked on insurance in the game's closing minutes as senior MF Tesia Kozlowski (Westerville, OH) blasted a shot from 23 yards out to the far corner. Lowstuter and freshman MF Natalia Walters (South Barrington, IL) assisted on Kozlowski's second goal of the season. For Walters, it was her first career point. Lowstuter collected three assists this weekend and now leads the team with eight.

Sophomore GK Sarah West (Downers Grove, IL) stopped the only three shots she faced to help UD record its seventh shutout of the season. The Flyers have allowed just three goals in their 10-game win streak and just six for the season.

Overall, Dayton owned a 19-6 advantage in shots with Kozlowski and junior MF Laura Boland (Hudson, OH) each taking four. Six different Dukes accounted for their shots. Bondi made six saves.

The Flyers return to action Friday night at Saint Joseph's. Kickoff is slated for 7:00 p.m.
