DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton Softball Academy will hold a Coaching Clinic on March 9, 2009 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Frericks Center on campus. The clinic staff will give instruction to coaches of all levels interested in learning more about the game of softball. The clinic highlights coaching techniques, defensive skills and drills, pitching and catching fundamentals, and mental skills training. It will also provide ample time for discussion and networking.

"We believe very strongly that the Flyer Softball Coaching Clinic should be a learning experience and that it should be educational," said UD Head Softball Coach Cara Clark. "Our staff takes a personal interest in each coach to help them improve their coaching ability and reach their goals."

The cost of the clinic is $25 per registrant. Registrants should wear comfortable clothes and bring a writing utensil. Light refreshments will be provided.

The clinic staff guided the University of Dayton softball team to the best fielding team in the Atlantic 10 and ranked as high as 24th in the nation in 2008. The staff also aided the Flyers in finishing in the top three in hitting in the A-10 that season. UD softball also gets it done in the classroom; they were ranked 17th in the nation in team GPA by the NFCA.
