Isaacson pulled UD within one with a solo home run in the bottom of the second. Brown drove home another run in the bottom of the third to knot the game at three apiece.

Sophomore Rachel Archer’s RBI single in the fourth inning pulled Dayton ahead. Vazquez’s grand slam later in the inning cleared the 20-foot high safety fence 10 yards past the left field wall.

The Flyers added three additional runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to run-rule the Bruins.

Dayton battled back in the top of the fifth with a solo home run by Maloof and another run by junior Leah Sitter.

An error in the bottom of the sixth inning allowed the Cardinals to score another run. Maloof homered again in the seventh inning putting UD within three of Ball State.

The Flyers return to action on Sunday against the Chattanooga Lady Mocs at 1:15 p.m. ET.
