Kingston, RI - This Saturday the Flyers will be competing in the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships in Kingston, RI. The Rhode Island women's team won their fifth A-10 crown last year, and are preparing to defend their title.

Last year Kelly Pohlman (Versailles, OH) won the A-10 Indoor title in both the shot put and the weight throw. She defended her 2004 title in the shot put with a throw of 47 feet and 1.75 inches. Pohlman won her first ever A-10 weight throw championship after a throw of 55-3.00 feet. Pohlman will be competing in both events in this Saturday's meet. If she wins another gold medal this weekend, she will tie an A-10 record for winning a gold medal three years in a row.

Candace McKinley (Helotes, TX) placed in two events for the Flyers last year. She won the bronze in the long jump with a distance of 17-7.50 feet and placed fourth in the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 8.46. She is also a returning participant.

Amy Kremer (Minster, OH) is a freshman with the best high jump score in the A-10's right now, and is expected to earn points for her team at the Championships. Her highest jump to date is 5-07.75.

In the 2005 Atlantic 10 Championship, Dayton placed eighth with a total of 48 points, which they hope to improve on this year.

The Championship will end the Flyers' indoor track season. The outdoor track meets will begin in March, starting with the Shamrock Invitational in Conway, SC on March 17 and 18.
