FIRST PLACE DAYTON HOSTS A-10 MATCHES AGAINST XAVIER AND RHODE ISLAND

UD hosts Xavier (15-9, 7-2 A-10), Thursday at 7 p.m. in match that will be televised on tape delay on Time Warner Television in Dayton (Channel 25). The Flyers then take on another A-10 West Divsion opponent Friday at 7 p.m. when they take on Rhode Island (6-16, 1-8 A-10). <P>Dayton has defeated both of the opponents it will face this week and has a 45-30 combined record the teams all-time. The Flyers outlasted Xavier 3-2 on Oct. 7 in Cincinnati and hold a 31-20 all-time record against XU in the most renewed rivalry in either program's history. UD swept Rhode Island on Oct. 2 and leads the all-time series 14-10. <P>The Flyers enter the week with an 8-1 mark in Atlantic 10 play, which is the top overall record in the conference. UD would qualify for the A-10 Championships this week if it wins both of its matches. Dayton, the 2003 &amp; 2004 Atlantic 10 Tournament Champions, is looking to secure its sixth consecutive berth in the conference tournament, which will be held November 18 &amp; 19 on the campus of the University of Rhode Island. <P>Fans can follow the action of both matches live with Gametracker at www.DaytonFlyers.com.
