WINSTON-SALEM, NC
-  No. 23 Dayton swept Radford, 3-0 (30-10, 30-28, 30-25) on Saturday at the Black and Gold Challenge. With the win, UD lifted its record to its best ever since moving to NCAA Division I play in 1985 at 10-0.

The Flyers used a team effort to defeat the Highlanders as all 15 players on the Dayton roster saw time for the second match in a row. UD out hit RU in each game of the match and by a .246 to .036 margin overall. Dayton also held a decided advantage in blocks (9.0-5.0), kills (45-27), service aces (9-5) and digs (55-45).

Freshman Yvonne Marten reached double figures in kills for the second straight match and led all players with 12 kills. She was followed by seven kills from senior Robynne Green and five each from freshman Becky Novacek and senior Jamie-Lee Richards who added three service aces.

Redshirt junior Erin Schroeder and freshman Kacie Hausfeld split the setting duties and combined for 37 assists overall. Schroeder dished out 26 assists with nine digs and two service aces while Hausfeld had 11 assists of her own.

Defensively, freshmen Rachel Broerman and Tiffany Gaerke matched Schroeder with nine digs as UD held RU to under .100 hitting in each of the first two games of the match.

Robynne Green led all players with three blocks while redshirt freshman Lindsay Fletemier added two solo blocks.  Bethany Akerhielm, Novacek and Marten each added two blocks of their own as Dayton out blocked its opponent for the sixth time in 10 matches this season.
