FLYERS FACE TEMPLE IN ATLANTIC 10 SEMIFINAL

DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton Flyers begins their pursuit for their first Atlantic 10 Championship since 2007, playing host to Temple in the A-10 semifinal on Saturday at the Frericks Center at 5:00 p.m. ET.

All-American middle blocker and A-10 Co-Player of the Year Lindsay Fletemier leads a talented crop of Flyer talent. She leads the conference in hitting percentage (.402) and block per set (1.31). Earlier this week she was joined on the A-10's first team by middle blocker Becky Novacek's who's attack efficiency is only second to Fletemier.

Dayton faces Temple for the third time this season after earning wins over them at the Frericks Center and on the road in Philadelphia. Temple was led by Yun Yi Zhang in the first round of the tournament. Zhang posted 29 kills, squeaking past the four-seeded George Washington Colonials in five sets.

Redshirt freshman outside hitter Rachel Krabacher continues to be a threat for the Red and Blue. She earned her third rookie of the week award on Monday and was also named to the All-Rookie team by conference coaches.

Rookie libero Paige Vargas averages 3.71 digs per set. She is also part of a talented serving core. Vargas has 26 aces, while outside hitter Amanda Cowdrey has 33, Kacie Hausfeld has 29 and Tiffany Gaerke has 27.

Setters Kacie Hausfeld and Hannah Clancy have the Dayton offense clicking at a .251 hitting percentage this season. Hausfeld averages 6.17 assists per set, while Clancy tallies nearly five per set this season.

The semifinals kick off at 5:00 p.m. ET in the Frericks Center. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 dollars for students. A live video stream is available at www.Atlantic10.com.
