FLYERS CLIPPED BY THE FALCONS IN FOUR GAMES

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio
-  Dayton fell victim to Bowling Green, 1-3 (24-30, 30-26, 30-32, 25-30) in non-conference volleyball action Tuesday in front of 298 fans at Anderson Arena.

The loss was the fourth in five matches for Dayton (3-4) while Bowling Green improved to 2-3 on the year.

UD was led offensively by the current Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, Faye Barhorst who hit .342 with match-highs of 19 kills and six blocks. Barhorst has now reached double-figures in kills four times this season and has recorded 5.0 blocks or more four times.

Sophomore Jamie-Lee Richards was the only other Flyer to post double-digits in kills with a career-best 12 while adding four digs and three blocks as Dayton was out hit on the evening .182 to .141. Her previous career-high was nine against Tennessee Tech on Sept. 4, 2004.

Senior setter Nicole Schott led the Dayton backline with 22 digs to go along with 31 assists. She finished just two digs shy of her career-best of 24 set against Loyola Marymount on Sept. 26, 2003.

Two other Flyers had double-digit dig performances as sophomore libero Adrienne Green finished with 11 and freshman Mandy Robbe had a season-high 10 to go along with four kills.

Sophomore middle blocker Gina Heiderman added to UD's defense on the front line with five blocks (two solo, three assists) as Dayton out blocked BGSU 12.0 to 6.0.

Red shirt freshman Erin Schroeder finished with 15 assists, nine digs and a service ace while sophomore Robynne Green nearly missed a triple-double with eight kills and nine digs to accompany two blocks and a service ace.

After starting the season with seven consecutive road matches, Dayton will host the Marriott Flyer Invitational this weekend at Frericks Center. The Flyers will take on Virginia, Friday at 7 p.m. On Saturday, UD will face Indiana State at 11 a.m. and Mississippi State at 7:30 p.m. For ticket information, including groups rates, call the UD Ticket Office at (937) 229-4433.
