Brittany Adell

Brittany Adell serves as the novice coach on the University of Dayton rowing staff starting in September 2014. She coordinates walk-on tryouts and coaches new student-athletes.

"This place is a great fit for me," said Adell. "From the moment I got on campus it just felt right. Everyone is so welcoming. I am ready to jump right in and see what we can do with the program this year because there are such high expectations."

Adell, a native of Gray, Maine, has been involved with rowing at all levels, and comes to the Flyers from the Radnor Girls Crew Club in Philadelphia where she served as assistant coach.

"We are very excited to have Brittany join us," said Head Coach Mike Wenker. "We have high expectations for the program and her addition is a great fit for our program.”

Adell has previously worked with nonprofit organization, Philly Girls in Motion as program manager, and the Philadelphia Girls Rowing Club as an assistant coach.    

Adell received a bachelor’s of science in kinesiology from Temple University in 2013 and it currently working to earn her masters of sports leadership from Northeastern University.  

During her time at Temple University, Adell was a four-year scholarship athlete and team captain for the women’s rowing team. She also served on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee as the women’s rowing representative.

Based on her experience as a division I athlete, Adell said, "I competed for four years in the Atlantic 10 and I understand what it takes to succeed at this level," said Adell. "I'm really excited to see how far we can take this program."
