Flyer Flyers Score In Double Figures For First Time This Season

DAYTON —The University of Dayton men's basketball team used a balanced attack Saturday night to defeat Central Michigan 84-58 at UD Arena. Six Flyers scored at least nine points, five had four rebounds or more and four had at least three assists. Devin Oliver and Dyshawn Pierre led the Flyers with 15 points each.

Jalen Robinson, making his first start of the season, added 12 points. Jordan Sibert and Vee Sanford each added 10.

Oliver was the game's leading rebounder with nine. Pierre reached double figures for the first time in five games on five-of-six shooting from the field. Robinson and Sibert were both a perfect six-for-six from the line, and Sanford led UD with four assists.

CMU's Chris Fowler led the Chippewas with 20 points and five assists.

The Flyers owned the boards 42-27. UD shot .509 (27-53) from the field while holding Central Michigan to .393 (22-56). The Flyers never trailed in the game, and closed with a 17-4 burst over the game's final 5:38.

Dayton, now 8-2 overall, scored more than 80 points for the fifth time this season. Five Flyers scored double figures for the first time this season. Central Michigan saw its four-game win streak snapped and fell to 6-4.

The Flyers remain home to take on Iona on Thursday, Dec. 19. Game time is 7:00 p.m. ET.
