DAYTON WBB TOPS UMASS 81-67; FLYERS WIN 23RD CONSECUTIVE A-10 GAME

10 Flyers Score Led By Celeste Edwards's Career-High 17 Points

AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Dayton downed Massachusetts 81-67 in an Atlantic 10 road game Wednesday at Mullins Arena. Every Flyer played and 10 scored as UD won its 23rd consecutive A-10 game.


Dayton (12-4, 5-0 A-10) won its 10th consecutive game this season and stays atop the A-10 standings. Freshman Celeste Edwards led the Flyers with a career-high 17 points, while freshman Saicha Grant-Allen also posted a career-high eight points. Another freshman, Andrijana Cvitkovic scored 14 points, including a perfect 10-of-10 from the free throw line. Sophomore Amber Deane scored 12 points for the Flyers. UD had a season-high 10 blocked shots led by Cvitkovic's three blocks.


Kim Pierre-Louis of UMass (3-17, 0-6 A-10) led all scorers with 20 points.


Dayton shot just 38.9 percent from the floor, the third lowest this season. UD also shot just 25 percent from three-point range. 
 
The Flyers play at Saint Joseph's Sunday, Jan. 26 at 6 p.m. on NBC Sports Network. UD's next home game is Saturday, Feb. 1 vs. George Mason at 6 p.m. The Flyers will celebrate National Girls and Women in Sport Day.
