FLYERS OPEN A-10 ACTION HOSTING SAINT LOUIS
• The University of Dayton Flyers begin Atlantic 10 Conference play by hosting the Saint Louis Billikens on Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on Tom Blackburn Court. The game will be televised on ESPN2, carried by WHIO Radio and is available with live streaming video, stats and audio at DaytonFlyers.com.
ABOUT SAINT LOUIS
• The Saint Louis Billikens enter the game 14-2 overall and 1-0 in the Atlantic 10. Saint Louis is also receiving votes in both the AP and USA Today Coaches polls. Five Billikens average 8.5 points or more. Three seniors, Dwayne Evans (14.9 ppg), Jordair Jett (10.5 ppg) and Rob Loe (10.1 ppg) lead the Saint Louis attack.
SERIES STUFF
• UD leads the all-time series 25-24. Last season on Feb. 2, 2013 the Flyers lost in Saint Louis, 81-52, as
Vee Sanford scored 10.
A-10 OPENERS
• This is Dayton's 19th season in the Atlantic 10 Conference and the Flyers are 11-7 all-time in A-10 home openers.
• It is also the fourth time in the last five years UD begins conference play against the Billikens. In fact, coach
Archie Miller's first A-10 victory came against Saint Louis.
NON-CONFERENCE SUCCESS
• Dayton closed the non-conference part of the schedule 12-3. The 12 non-conference victories are the most during coach
Archie Miller's tenure at Dayton. The Flyers are currently on an eight-year streak with 10 or more non-conference victories.
BUZZER BEATERS
• Dayton experienced game-winning three-pointers at the buzzer to start and end the non-conference schedule.
Jordan Sibert hit a three against IPFW in the season opener and
Devin Oliver banked a shot in during overtime at Ole Miss.
TOP OF THE WORLD
• The Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 in field goal shooting (.484), three-point field goal percentage (.385), defensive rebounding (30.5) and rebounding margin (+ 6.2). UD is also third in scoring averaging 77.7 points per game.
MULTI-FACETED ATTACK
• When Dayton has four or more players score in double figures, the Flyers are 8-0 this season.
• Overall, 10 different Flyers have scored in double figures in 2013-14.
• UD has the third-best scoring offense in the Atlantic 10 (77.7 ppg).
