ROBINSON, SCOTT DISMISSED FROM UD MEN’S BASKETBALL TEAM

DAYTON -- The University of Dayton has announced that juniors Jalen Robinson and Devon Scott have been dismissed from the men's basketball team.

"These two individuals have failed to meet the expectations and standards that we have for our student-athletes and as representatives of this university," UD Vice-President and Director of Athletics Tim Wabler said.

"I'm extremely disappointed in Jalen and Devon.  Their actions do not reflect the behavior we want in our program." head coach Archie Miller said.  "Our student-athletes are given every opportunity to be successful on and off the court.  Despite ample opportunity to do so, their actions demonstrate they chose not to take advantage of that.  More important than wins and losses, it's about members of our program being committed to represent the University of Dayton in the manner we all expect."

"Being a student-athlete is a privilege, and these two men forfeited that with their unacceptable behavior.  They have let down their teammates, their coaches, the University and the fans, but most importantly they have let down themselves and their families," Wabler added.

In nine starts, the 6-foot-9 Scott averaged 9.1 points and a team-high 7.4 rebounds.  Robinson, also 6-foot-9, averaged 3.2 points and 2.4 rebounds in nine games.

Dayton (7-2) hosts Boston University on Saturday.
