Jordan Sibert scored 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field to help the Dayton Flyers pick up an 84-67 road victory against the George Mason Patriots.
Dayton shot 55 percent from the field and 22-of-30 at the free throw line. On the defensive side, the Flyers held George Mason to 40 percent from the floor and forced 15 turnovers.
UD got a big boost from the senior duo of Kavanaugh and Sanford. Kavanaugh shot 4-of-5 from the field and added six rebounds, while Sanford went 6-of-9 from the field and had three steals.
In the first half, the Flyers held George Mason without a field goal for the final 6:43. That sparked an 11-2 run for UD to close the first 20 minutes of play up 40-25.
The win helped the Flyers improve to 15-8 overall and 3-5 in the Atlantic 10. George Mason dropped to 7-15 overall and 0-8 in the league.
Dayton will close the two-game road trip against the St. Bonaventure Bonnies on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 4 p.m. ET.
