OLEAN, N.Y. - The University of Dayton women's basketball team improved its Atlantic 10 record to 3-1 with an 86-70 win at St. Bonaventure Sunday night on NBC Sports Network. Senior
Andrea Hoover led all scorers with 25 points as one of four Flyers in double figures and senior
Ally Malott recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Dayton improves to 12-4 on the season while St. Bonaventure drops to 11-7 overall and 1-4 in league action.
Also for the Flyers, junior
Amber Deane added 15 points and sophomore
Saicha Grant-Allen chipped in 10 points. On the night, Dayton was 25-of-26 from the line and shot 41.2 percent from the floor. The Flyers out-rebounded the Bonnies, 46-32.
Hoover scored the first nine points of the game for the Flyers and Dayton found itself up, 9-2, after the first five minutes of play. The Bonnies nearly pulled even at 13-12 but that would be as close as SBU would get as UD would use a 13-2 run to break open the game. Dayton held a 42-24 advantage at the half.
It was all Flyers in the second half and Dayton held its largest lead of the game at 25 points with 6:25 remaining in regulation. All 11 dressed Flyers saw game action.
Dayton will play host to Rhode Island Wednesday night. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at UD Arena.
